One thing that you are likely to have noticed if you have browsed the Prizma Graphics online store, is that we are not exactly short of wide-format inkjet plotter papers. Of those, however, an extremely popular option is our semi-translucent 60gsm inkjet paper, as can be purchased under the ST60 product code.

What makes this particular large-format inkjet paper such a draw for great numbers of our customers? Well, it’s due to a long list of qualities – but basically, if you are seeking a lightweight and semi-opaque report-grade paper for monochrome printing, it could be an excellent option.

Let us, then, take a closer look at some of the specific characteristics that cause this paper to be an enduringly strong seller in our store.

A lightweight paper that is a great match to a number of applications

Before moving onto anything else, let’s answer a common question that prospective customers have about this 60gsm semi-translucent paper: is it essentially ‘just’ tracing paper?

The short answer to that question is no. Although the amount of ‘show-through’ that this paper has does make it an excellent choice for tracing and overlays – and sure enough, pattern makers widely use it for the creation of sew patterns – it differs from tracing paper in that it is a smooth, white paper with uniform composition, whereas tracing paper has a grey appearance.

Still, the semi-translucent quality of this 60gsm large-format inkjet paper can certainly make it a sound choice for the production of check plots and copies with a dyeline printer. In fact, this paper has been subject to universal testing, the results of which mean we are confident to recommend it for use with any mainstream dye or pigment inkjet printer.

A particularly important feature of this large-format inkjet paper compared to some others in our range is – of course – its light weight. This has the advantage of lowering your postage costs if you need to send your drawings in the mail, although applications that involve prints being subjected to much more handling and scanning might be better suited to a more durable paper, such as our 80gsm or 90gsm uncoated plotter papers.

Above all else, though, this is a paper that you can count on for monochrome printing, but which also holds line colour well, thanks to its smooth surface qualities. It is also available in extra-long rolls, and you won’t need to pay an additional delivery charge for pallet quantities of this item.
